i think saffron is perhaps underappreciated and a little bit uh less understood in western cultures which seems to be the case for a lot of botanicals that we talk about on this podcast i was familiar with the color of saffron and how expensive it was. Because there are such large amounts of money on the table there's a lot of adulteration happening from just straight up dyed plastic legs to safflower saufflower produces these kind of petals that somewhat look like the stigmas ofsaffron especially if you just put them in some dye.
