Young Runners Shouldn't Lift Weights

The tide seems to be slowly turning but there's still a lot of myths out there about adolescents and children engaging with resistance training. The basic message is that it is safe and effective for youngsters to lift weights at virtually any age. Use of medicine balls, elastic bands use of light dumbbells and potentially a barbell is a safe and effective way to start loading a young athlete.
