The History of McCarthyism

The Cold War and the Trump era are two very key periods of history, aren't they? Because that initial sense of paranoia and fear about information takes us all about to the Red Scare. Some of that same atmosphere was rediscovered in the Trump era by his political opponents who sort of, they started it all up again. The people who were most explicitly McCarthyite in the Trump eras were the kind of liberal standard bearers for whom McCarthyism was supposed to be.
