It comes from the Greek philosophers and all sorts of male philosophers since then, is that the mind is sort of separate from the body. According to some it's an illusion, but anyway gone. It's a very masculine thought that was adopted into the feminist movement at some point where they started to say that the body was not so important. But the mind is part of the body.
