Astrophage is a single celled organism that the humans end of naming astrophage. It's like an algy in the ocean, but instead of the ocean, it lives on stars. In order to travel through space, it needs to store an enormous amount of energy and be really efficient about it. The good news is astrophage makes a great spacecraft fuel. You can collect it, breed it up in farms and then use that to power a spaceship. Which is handy, because they look around and all the stars in our local neighborhood of the galaxy are also dimming.
