Work without the worker, labor in the age of platform capitalism. Altimation is not simply a technological process. It often involves hybrid forms of task fulfilment which rely on machine learning and poorly paid workers onwelcome to tact won't save us. I'm your host, paris marks, and this week my guest is phil jones. Phil's book shows that so many of those tasks that we think are being done by computers are actually being outsourced to very poorly paid humans.

Paris Marx is joined by Phil Jones to discuss the hidden microworkers behind supposedly AI-powered automation from major tech companies, how it differs in the Global North and South, and what it means for how we think about the future.
