Kubernetes - What's the API?

Kelsey: One of the lessons that I took away from building GCE was that the API is the thing. And so our focus early on with Kubernetes was making sure that we had the right concepts to express a lot of the deployment patterns that we wanted to express. We didn't target scaling beyond say like 100 nodes. That was a conscious choice because we knew we could solve that eventually. But the thinking was, let's make sure we get the experience right as nobody's going to be using this past 100 nodes early on anyway.
