The Importance of Moral Realism

I don't think you need moral realism to care about this. You can make a case for utilitarianism that just starts from like, gosh, humanity is a horrible track record of treating people horribly. We should really try and get ahead of the curve. That's how we're going to avoid being moral monsters. I want an ethics that's in some sense better than what I would have come up with if I had more time to think about it. What would that ethics look like? And I've written up this series called Future Proof Ethics. The utility legions corollary doesn't reference hedonism at all.
