For the stoics, every day is fateful. And yet they insist that oedipus's actions are up to him. For them, fate is like these pod casts, without any gaps. You cannot escape it in even the tiniest detail. It might seem to you a paradox, but itis worth exploring how the stoics defended their position. Many philosophers nowadays also endorse compatibleism. If an event is not up to me in this way, then, on the stoic view, i am not responsible for it.
