The Importance of Focus in English
In a non-configurational language, your focus can be anything. In English, it gets a bit weird. We have to do strange clefting things if we want to focus this or that. Some languages have special verb marking. Both Coptic and Poular use different kinds of conjugation when the default word order is deranged for focus reasons.
