Runyan's version of roller derby takes the country by storm during the golden age of roller skating. Big arenas would sell out in 19 forty eight, a time when almost no americans have television. And now roller derby is on t v from the infancy of the medium. But if you're looking in a department store window, or possibly in a bar, people going counter clockwise on roller skates are great entertainment.
