Reading's repertoire was largely made up of songs by the two grades of 50s Georgia R and B. Little Richard and James Brown, plus some by his other idol Sam Cook would remain his greatest influences throughout his career. After a stint with Williams, Reading went on to join another band, Pat T. Cake and the Mighty Panthers whose guitarist Jenny Jenkins would be a major presence in his life for several years. The Mighty Panthers were soon giving Reading top billing, and advertising gigs is featuring Otis Rockin Robin Reading - presumably that was another song in his live repertoire.
