Imean, What Prospects for Tunis's Democracy?
This is the most profound challenge to tunis's democracy in the ten plus years since the revolution. The leaders of the established political parties don't bear some responsibility for this situation. They have been sort of consumed with ideological struggles over the past few years between secularists and istlemists. And they've let it get to this point where so many people are willing to go along, at least in the short term, with this undemocratic power grab. Ad is a profound challenge to the sinesian political system.
