Aquinas on the Limits of Knowledge
Aquinas could be categorized as a kind of sceptic himself. He thinks truths about god's existence and nature can be known by rational demonstration. But such arguments are not the only way in which aquinas thinks people normally, that is to say, without assistance from supernatural grace, come to know about god. Even where there is room for rational theological proofs, these have significance beyond their power to demonstrate their conclusions.
