Herodotus's Story of the Persians

Herodotus says he saw bone fields in egypt from some of these battles. He tells a story, who knows if it's true or not, about what the egyptian punishment was when they lost the war. The persians are a very lenient empire, sort of grated on a curve, but could be just as nasty as their predecessors in the region. And pretty much at any time in history, just about anywhere you go, envoys and ambassadors were untouchable.
