The Importance of Keeping a Low Profile
Pat Ryan: My dad is an entrepreneur, so I come from an entrepreneurial family. He knew the auto business, but I was too young to really understand what's going on. In 1968, he gave a talk at a 20-group in Montreal,. and it was Pat Ryan's associates, and he had a handful of associates. And that guy was Roger Penske. So my dad and Roger are these two guys who've gone on to create these large public companies - they knew each other when they were nobody. They're still doing it.
