There are Catholics who would say you ought only to read the Dweyraems version of the Bible. I think we should always be aware of how Saint Jerome rendered things, he says. The Vulgate is still the liturgical translation of the Latin right. So there is always value to going back to the Hebrew of Isaiah and the Greek of John or the Greek of Matthew,. et cetera.
