The Effects of Social Exclusion on Brain Activity

The study looked at supporters of a terrorist group based in Pakistan, Lashkritaiba. They were asked to rate their willingness to fight and die for different values on a scale of one to seven. For these people, we saw a whole network of brain areas, including one brain area called the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex, were deactivated.
