The Faculty of Assent

There is no challenge that has not been overcome by some one in history. Those who accept life's challenges as opportunities for growth, rather than disabling tragedies, are always better for it. External events cannot harm us; only that which is within our control can actually harm us. We choose the interpretation of events to which we assent. No one can force our faculty of choice. And it is only when we take complete control of that faculty that we can be truly free.
