The Importance of Government Technology in Technological Development
There are lots of things in which government tech is really, really bad. And you might see some improvements if government workers themselves could think, hey, this would be better if we did. I give a shout out to Taiwan, where Audrey Tang is their digital minister,. She has done exactly that in building participatory platforms and new ways in which the government can communicate with voters. It's like we have these two binary worlds at the polar ends of structural transformation. Either you're a country with firms so small, you don't grow, or firms so big that you remain rich and unequal.
