Kroger's Buying Albertsons Could Make a Big Difference
Two of the nation's five largest quotas are combined to create a nationwide class with dozens of brand names and thousands of stores. Magna believes that the deal can generate one billion annual synergies net the divestitures although it could take 40 years to get there. The only real question here is if the government will let it happen in another administration I think Kroger's case for the deal will be a slam dunk first.
