Retinitis Pigmentosa
Not everyone with retinitis pigmentosa becomes fully blind. Peter went on to study for a master's, and even did some tutoring back at the Open University. But eventually the marking became too much, and he had to finally give up work. So we took a gene from algae called crimson R, and this is what we put back into patients.
