How to Write a Good Story
If your main plot is about the issue, as long as you are showing rather than tell. If your primary treatment of a difficult issue comes down to people arguing about it in a room, it's going to sound preachy because it it is. And different people who have a similar slant, but different reasonings also will help a lot. Ben Griffithass: What is the best piece of advice you can give somebody who is never written but wants to start? Listen to writing excuses. Read a lot of the stuff in the genre you want to write.
