Like Asian parents, they view their children as an extension of themselves or rather like a representation. "I don't know if you relate to this at all, but that's certainly kind of my experience of like my relationship with my parents up until we did the work in therapy anyway," she says. Michelle: I think there was also like a term that I only learned like this past year, like emotional incest where it's like, you know, especially like being a single mom for so long.
