A good message is never cold. It's always like swimming in this lukewarm kind of contextualized world where you kind of know, or at least you have a way to backtrack to a person that you know and trust. So if I know that I can help them, they can help me. The most important thing is to be present in your community anyway. If you're not sure if you want to run an newsletter, if it's going to be big, just go somewhere that you can start writing. You don't own really the list, but you own your relationship with your audience - ESP.
