The Panther's Defence Lawyers Turned Theirself Into Celebrities
The panther 21 were brought in to stand around the composer leonard bernstein's manhattan penthouse as party probs. The defence lawyers used the opportunity to turn themselves into celebrities. But for all the support they were getting from these wealthy, white celebrities, they were getting much less than they expected from the party leadership in oakland. They felt disrespected by the california members who kind of smirked at the whole mother african thing.
