A man in Utah, Wilber Hernandez, was allegedly high on bath salts when he carjacked a U.S. Postal Service truck to flee what he claimed was a mob chasing him over a jar of diamonds. What started as a bizarre theft quickly escalated into a multi-jurisdictional police chase and a tense standoff with officers using non-lethal weapons. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber has details on how the federal case ended with a shorter sentence than expected.
