Jesus Teaching Concerning the Law
In the second half of matthew, chapter five, jesus continues the teaching that he has begun in his statement that he has come to fulfil the law and the prophets. Jesus typically focuses upon action, not merely upon an inner state. To understand what is going on, i think it s important to see the logic of jesus argument. Its generally read as antithesis.Jesus does not give a prohibition much of the time, but states a fact.
