Is FERC a Natural Gas Pipeline Under Federal Control?
For natural gas pipelines that cross state borders feds it's under federal jurisdiction so FERC can come in and say we're gonna permit this pipeline. We decided through our silence through not giving the feds similar power and electricity that electricity is all about state power, he says. If you want to build a new long distance multi-state transmission line it is almost impossible according to him. There are lots of like nudges around the edge that are probably going to be what we end up doing but I would just like at least some federal authority to kind of cut through the Gordian nut yeah.
