The Future of Web Mapping

When you think about the future of web mapping in general so displaying data geospatial data on the web and interacting with it is that the way we're going should we expect for everything to be 3D? I've never been super good at predicting the future my main expected has always been managing people I solve with problems. My my answer here is based on what I see and what I see companies that are much larger and much more successful than us are starting to do. Until one year and half ago I would have answered that for the moment 3D is more like 2.5D like putting something on a globe spinning the globe everybody's happy but it's not 3D.
