The Informational Perspective on the Second Law

The information is hidden from us at the microscopic scale, so we can't exploit it. It's this ignorance of the micro states that compels classical thermo dynamics to speak of averages and ensembles. The informational perspective on the second law is now being recast as a quantum problem. In particular, entanglement of particles enables information about them to be spread around and manipulated in non classical ways.
