When i started the project, you know, i read the the little material on naroji that was around beforehand. And ultimately, o i kind of understood naroji's loyalism as a bit of a tactic and a way to kind of undercut a lot of elements of nefarious colonial policy. I mean, during the course of his life, roci made several de declarations, talking about how he was loyal to british rule. But at the same time, he was making completely contradictory statements. If you read his private correspondence with certain people, he is talking about britishrule in quite condemnatory tenes. So it kind of evolved, in my sense, at least
