The Importance of Hard Yards in Political Interviews
It's just much harder now to get people's attention for a political interview. The volume of stuff going out is so great that I don't think people know where to look first and they're often not even watching the channels or TV where these are shown. What you have on TV most of the time is a sort of maybe seven or eight minute interview in which the politician is just usually irrespective of the questions just repeating the line. So no wonder people are turned off by or aren't interested. That was her approach. Whatever you think of her politics, she was absolutely committed to going into the arena,. arguing her case and standing up even in a difficult moment to scrutiny.
