A common idiom is through thick and thin. And it means during both good and bad times. For example, though they had lots of ups and downs in their relationship, Alison Sam stayed together through thick andthin. Another expression is skating on thin ice - literally the ice is very thin. But if you're doing something maybe dangerous with a high risk, it's very risky. It could go wrong. Then you can say you're skating on thinice.
