The Importance of Recursion in Language Modeling
Recursion really difficult for neural networks. In functional programming recursion is I guess used a lot. And there's evidence it's that tree structured RNN models of the like recursive neural net RNN grammar style are more robust to language processing tasks that involve a lot of recursion.
