The Five Stage Model of Grief
The five stage model for grief was developed by Elizabeth cobler ross in the 1960s. But research has shown that it is not a very credible description of people's grieving, says David Frum. He argues that we experience multiple different kinds of affective states as well as sorrow and sadness. And so i think of grief as a kind of emotionally driven attention - directed at different aspects of our relationship with deceased.
