The Wagner-Mercenry Group's Role in Niger
Niger has been critical for counter-terrorism efforts in the region. It's been a major partner for Western governments and US, who've been wanting to fight Jihadist activity there. Could we see this Russian mercenary group becoming involved in Niger now to fill this vacuum? This is exactly right up Wagner's alley. And I think it speaks to the fact that they exploit existing fractures and fragmentation in a country.
