Is There a 90% Correlation Between Wages and Results?
There's a 90% correlation between teams' wages and their results, according to Sockonomics. Only 10% of managers consistently overachieved in English football from 1973 to 2010 when wages were taken into account. But if you look at Liverpool, for example, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been tremendous fullbacks for five years or so now. And that's because they've been turned into great players by a really good manager.
