The Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid of Giza was built with locally quarried limestone. It is important to state that potentially all of the limestone may not have been quarried as new and as one project. The Egyptians could have used logs underneath the limestone blocks to convey them along the ground but it is also suggested that the surface of the sand being moistened in order to create a slick surface would require less strength than wheeled transport. Also we have visions of large teams of people pulling these blocks with long roads but there is no reason why beasts of burden such as oxen were not a part of the process.
