The idea that individuals cannot be satisfied in an open relationship mostly originated from our heterocentric view of monogamy, writes author Toni Morrison. A documentary followed couples who have made it over the 50 year marriage mark. It asked howard and cecil waite, a couple married for 63 years, discussed the arrangement in which he would drop CECIL off at her boy friend's house on his way to his girl friend's house. All this, but they never once consider divorce.
