Genealogy and the Golden State Killer

Paul Holz and his team used DNA evidence from a rape kit to identify the Golden State Killer's relatives. The suspect had been missing for 38 years before he was tracked down through genealogy testing. His great-great-grandparents were alive roughly two centuries earlier, giving him an Italian heritage.
