Bajing is trying to pursue this delicate balancing act of insisting on talks, but refusing to be drawn on sanctions. The foreign ministry has still largely stick to their positions which is refusing to condemn russia. No country should seek absolute military advantage and absolute security at the expense of other countryes security and sovereignty. So in this sense, i do not think that china is making a major shift of its stands, just a tiny adjustment in its narrative.
