I Love Pastor Jack Hids Pastor and I Love the New Living Translation

Pastor Jack is unafraid to speak out on cultural subjects that you don't hear a lot of other pastors talking about. I would personally recommend the bible recap podcast where you read through the bible chronologically and then there's like a six to eight minute episode every day with Terri Lee Cobble who kind of walks you through what did I just read. Arlene maybe try like the new living translation if you're just trying to understand the basic text  I like the new live translation but wouldn't use that as my main study version.
