The Relationship Between Presumption and Artifice in the Story of Hephaestos

Hephaestos is presumptuous. He tries to raise himself up at the level of his father by having a relationship with his own mother and because of that he gets thrown out of paradise just like Prometheus does. There's a relationship between weakness and artifice in all these stories. This is what let's say brings about the civilization itself and brings about technology as a means to supplement that that weakness.
