Local storage is probably the most commonly used one. If you want to be able to store like objects or numbers it's best to store them as jason, so that when you pull them out again they will maintain their structure and types. There's also session storage which goes away once a tab has closed. I personally don't use session storge for anything, so i'd be really interested in seeing what other uses there are.
