The Selected Effects Theory of Function
The main point of view of function that I gravitated toward was this selected effects theory of function. It effectively just says the function of a biological trait is whatever is designed for by natural selection. And there are so many strengths of that view, and I have a whole book describing why this is such a compelling picture of function.
