God's will for us is that we would fear him in a way that is respectful and reverent. And that is a fountain of life, a protection, a refuge, a refuge a beginning of wisdom. Paul was hurt often, but he was still living inside god's will for his life. The respect and the reverence for god ar like the boundaries. They're the box in which, if we live in that box, that reverence and fear of the lord, that's a safe box.
Nobody’s perfect. Intellectually, we know that to be true, but that rings hollow when we come up short and fall into the quicksand of sin. While our sin might create problems with our relationships here on earth, it ultimately offends the God who created us and sent His Son to die for us. Thankfully, He has proven time and again that He is faithful to forgive when we come to Him in humility. As we continue our study of Proverbs 16, we’ll see that God’s trustworthy love and grace can help us course correct so we can become the men He created us to be.
