Is It a Good Thing for Democracy?
moderates speak less in public forms, and it's the extremists who are talking the most. If you are at the extremes, you get a certain kind of benefit from appearing on t v that just holding office is going to deliver for you. We need to find some way to make the job itself more desirable or the cost of running lower. I think that would probably be a good thing for democracy for lots reasons.
