A Novel About Henry Bemis, a Bookish Little Man

Henry Bemis is a small, mousy man obsessed with reading and stories. When we first meet him he's reading a book as he talks to a customer at work. He's not making a particularly good impression with the boss because he's prone to slipping down into the bank vault to read as well. The other obstacle for Henry B Artemis being able to read all that he wants is his wife. In the short story, Harry, reluctance to let Henry read is partially because she loved to socialize but would never want to watch television alone. First broadcast on the 20th November 1959, adapted by Rod Sailing from a short story by Lynn Venable and directed by John Brown.
