In the seventies, we had rates of mobility that were around 20, 25 per centof the population. To day, that rate over all is down t about ten %. This seems to be happening around the country. It's not just localized to one region, that americans as a whole just aren't moving as much as they were. But it is something that is pretty american in a way, and it has shaped a lot of what America has looked like for a long time.
